ERP Data Migration Services

ERP consulting services

ERP data migration services decide whether the new system starts with numbers anyone trusts. Balances that do not tie out, duplicate customers and half-moved history are the usual reasons a go-live slips. Lucentive plans the migration with the finance team and proves it before cutover.

Title card: moving ERP data safely

What moves, and how

  1. Extract: balances, open transactions and master data from the old system.
  2. Clean: duplicates, inactive records and inconsistent coding fixed before they move.
  3. Map: old accounts, classes and segments to the new chart of accounts and dimensions.
  4. Load and reconcile: test loads first, then the final load, tied back to the old books.

How much history to bring

Most teams need opening balances plus the history they actually report on. Older detail stays in a searchable archive, which keeps the migration smaller and the new system cleaner. Auditors can still reach older records when they need them.

Proved in a parallel close

Before go-live, the month-end close runs in both systems and the results are compared line by line. Go-live happens once they agree.

Where it fits

Migration is part of every implementation we run, including QuickBooks to cloud ERP migration and Dynamics GP replacement.

Common questions

Can you migrate data from any system?

Most accounting and ERP systems can export what a migration needs. The first step is a sample extract, which shows early whether anything needs special handling.

How long does a data migration take?

It depends on the number of entities, the history moving and how clean the data is. The plan sets the scope and the test loads before any final cutover date is agreed.

What if our data is messy?

Most data is. Cleaning is planned as its own step, with the finance team deciding what to merge, fix or leave behind before anything is loaded.

Who signs off the migration?

Your finance team does, after reconciling each test load to the old books. Nothing goes live on numbers they have not checked.

How we work

  1. Assess: a fixed-fee advisory, usually two to four weeks, built from your actual close and ending in a recommendation you can act on.
  2. Implement: chart of accounts, integrations and data migration, proved by a parallel close before go-live.
  3. Support: the principal consultants who built the system stay on after launch.
