ERP Selection Consultant

ERP consulting services

An ERP selection consultant is worth hiring when the demos all look good and nobody on your team can say which one fits. Lucentive builds your requirements from how you actually close the month, compares the platforms that could meet them, and gives you a recommendation you can defend to the board.

Title card: choosing an ERP system with a consultant

What the selection covers

  • Requirements built from your close, your reporting and your integrations.
  • A side-by-side comparison of the platforms that fit.
  • An honest fit assessment, including staying where you are.
  • A realistic implementation budget and timeline for the recommended option.

How we keep the advice honest

Lucentive also implements, and we say so up front. The advisory stands on its own as a fixed-fee engagement: you own the requirements and the comparison, and you can take them to any implementer. If you proceed with us, the fee is credited against implementation.

How long it takes

Our ERP advisory usually runs two to four weeks. You come out of it with a recommendation, the reasons behind it, and a plan for what happens next.

Not sure you need a new system?

Start with the eight-question assessment. It takes about two minutes, needs no email to see the result, and will tell you to keep your current system when that is the honest answer.

Common questions

Why not let the software vendors run the selection?

Vendors demonstrate their own product. A selection built from your close compares several platforms against the same requirements, including the option of staying on what you have.

What do we get at the end?

A written recommendation with the reasons behind it, the requirements it was tested against, and an implementation budget and timeline for the recommended platform.

Can the recommendation be to keep our current system?

Yes. Telling a company not to buy is a normal outcome of these conversations. If a better chart of accounts, a missing integration or a reporting layer would fix the problem, the recommendation says so.

How we work

  1. Assess: a fixed-fee advisory, usually two to four weeks, built from your actual close and ending in a recommendation you can act on.
  2. Implement: chart of accounts, integrations and data migration, proved by a parallel close before go-live.
  3. Support: the principal consultants who built the system stay on after launch.
