Failed ERP Implementation Recovery

ERP consulting services

Failed ERP implementation recovery starts with an outside view of where the project actually stands. If go-live has slipped more than once, the close is running in two systems, or the finance team has stopped trusting the new numbers, Lucentive can review the project and tell you what it will take to get it working.

Title card: recovering a stalled ERP project

What the review covers

  • Configuration against your real month-end close, not the original design document.
  • Data migration quality: balances, open items and master data.
  • Integrations that fail, duplicate or post to the wrong period.
  • Scope, remaining budget and who owns each open issue.

Stabilize first, then decide

The first goal is a close you can trust. Once the books are reliable again, the review sets out the options: finish the current implementation, redesign parts of it, or change platform where the platform itself is the problem. Each option comes with its cost and timeline so leadership can decide on facts.

Working alongside your current partner

Recovery does not always mean replacing the firm you started with. We can work beside your existing partner, take the project over, or hand back a clear list of fixes.

Who does the work

Principal consultants run the review and any recovery work themselves. Once the system is stable, the same people can provide ERP support services so the fixes hold.

Common questions

Is it cheaper to fix than to restart?

Often, but not always. It depends on how much of the configuration and data can be trusted. The review prices both routes so the decision rests on your numbers rather than on what has already been spent.

Will you tell us if the platform was the wrong choice?

Yes. If the platform cannot do what your business needs, the review says so and sets out what a change would involve.

What do you need from us to start a review?

Access to the system, the original scope and design documents, the open issues list and time with the people closing the books. The review works from what is actually configured, not what was promised.

How we work

  1. Assess: a fixed-fee advisory, usually two to four weeks, built from your actual close and ending in a recommendation you can act on.
  2. Implement: chart of accounts, integrations and data migration, proved by a parallel close before go-live.
  3. Support: the principal consultants who built the system stay on after launch.
